Todays simplistic question
Today's question Do you think private people tend towards loneliness more than open people?

Do you think that's because they don't seem as lonely so people don't try to make them feel better?

I think it depends on what you mean by private. Sometimes 'private' seeming people can merely be self contained not needing that much from society in a general sense. One of my best friends is a real hermit but he needs his handful of close pals. He famously said to me 'friends are like fingers on a lepers hand, he only needs one or two good ones'!
Okay, extreme - but funny- point to make but it's true in his case. Is he lonely? I don't think so. In his private time he has plenty to occupy him and dealing with work collegues every day, gives him more than enough social interaction of a shallow nature.
But then I also have friends who are life-and-soul-of-the-party types yet at the core, they're kind of guarded. For exapmple, conversationalists who ask you a bazillion questions about your life and yet reveal very little about themselves in return. Yet on the surface you'd class that person as more open as they were gregarious.

Private in the sense of not talking very much about all their inner workings/feelings. I guess my point is that a private person might hide it better than an open person. Although everyone deals with that kind of thing differently I guess.
